Heatec builds portable blending systems for mixing virgin asphalt, or bitumen, with ground tire rubber or SBS polymer.

The ground tire rubber system is designed for ground rubber with fine particles of 40 to 80 mesh. Typical system includes 3 tanks, a hopper, an asphalt booster heater, a hot oil (thermal fluid) heater and a pumping system. All 3 tanks are used for blending and are heated by hot oil. The booster heater increases the temperature of the liquid asphalt cement, or bitumen, before it is introduced into the mix. The hot oil heater maintains the tanks at the proper temperature for mixture of asphalt and rubber.

Average production rate is 90 gallons per minute with the standard batch process unit. Units with higher production rates and continuous process equipment are available. The entire system is trailer-mounted for easy portability. Similar portable systems are available for blending SBS polymer with asphalt.
